Novice race is dead!

Cologne -
This number is alarming. Every third fatal traffic accident in 2009 a novice driver was involved.
Although the number of traffic accidents last year fell by 4.56 percent, were involved in twelve of the 36 fatal accidents at young people aged 18-24 years. A dangerous development, both in Cologne and the Rhine-Erft circle, where it did not come until the weekend to a terrible accident with the participation of a 19-year-olds.
In a dangerous overtaking it bounced head-on with an oncoming Ford Mondeo (EXPRESS) reported. The accident driver himself and a two-year child died.
"Crime in most accidents is excessive speed," says Helmut Simon, head of the Transport Directorate of the police in Cologne. "In the overall positive development we are preparing these figures still worried. The total number of accidents caused due to excessive speed has increased by 8.9 percent. "
Behind these cold statistics are hiding every time terrible tragedies. So it was youthful folly, which for a fatal accident on the night 25th April 2009 had led to the Brühl highway. Here is a 18-year-old drove too fast and argued, no belt. He lost control of his car when a car pulled into a parking lot on the street. The 18-year-old was ejected from the car and had been dead on the spot, the 21-year-old passenger seriously injured.
To prevent such accidents in the future, the police is planning this year, a comprehensive information campaign. "We want to bring people with the shocking details of the accidents to think," said Simon.
